Waste Less is at its core an environmental organization. We are trying to realize our vision of a landfill-free world, but that’s a big vision. So we’re starting with a main goal: to divert recyclables and reusables away from landfills. That’s why we offer junk removal services at prices people can afford, to stay competitive with for-profit businesses who do not have diversion as a main focus in their mandate.
Our vision for a sustainable future is shaped in part by the concept of a circular economy. A circular economy is one in which raw materials are made into products for public consumption, and when those products reach the end of their usable life, they are recycled to make other products, using fewer raw materials to do so. This concept of a circular economy is taken from the Strategy for a Waste-Free Ontario: Building a Circular Economy.
We collaborate with the local Kingston community: giving away bicycles / bicycle parts to Yellow Bike Action, donating usable furniture to Habitat for Humanity and Goodway Kingston.
Are you connected to an environmental organization, or an organization that relies on donations that Waste Less might come across? Contact us! We'd love to hear from you and find out how we can work together to preserve our planet for future generations.
